Warwick Farm green zone considered for new hospital site

Politicians say Jersey States will re-consider building the island's new hospital on Warwick Farm, after it featured on the original list of proposals.

Warwick Farm is a States owned site listed as a green zone and is currently being used as a nursery.

Dep Richard Rondel, St Helier No. 3&4, says he believes it's the right thing to do but doesn't know if the site will be a front runner.

The Health Minister has refused to confirm or deny any details, but says some sites that were previously discounted are being revisited.

Nearby residents of the site, in St Helier, aren't happy about the plans.

You know it's a green field site, there are many others around the island that are potentially bigger and flatter, and probably at better locations. If they're going to break their own laws and build on greenfield sites they could go anywhere for it.
